Here are some of the more frequently asked questions about our aquariums, and the build process.

  1. Does my aquarium come with lids?

No. Although we do offer the purchase of lids for every aquarium we build, they do not come standard with the aquarium.

  2. Does my aquarium come with plumbing?

It does not. you can purchase an overflow plumbing kit from us which consists of the bulkheads, stand pipes, and locline nozzles.

  3. Does my aquarium include a background?

  4. No. We can apply an outdoor rated vinyl, in the color of your choice, to the back of your aquarium for an additional fee of $8 per foot.

  5. When will I receive my aquarium?

Typically our lead times are 10-12 weeks. Although, due to certain circumstances this could change. Holidays, material shortages, and other unforeseen issues could change the build time. Remember, this is just an estimate not a guarantee.

  6. What do I need to know if i’m building my own stand?

If you choose to place our aquarium on a stand not built by us there are a few things you must know. The top of the stand must be built similar to the way the floor in a house is built using proper 2x4 or 2x6 joists. 3/4” plywood must be placed on top of the joists and 3/4” expanded polystyrene foam must be placed on top of the plywood. Using a foam that is too ridgid will defeat the purpose of using a foam underlayment.

  7. How long is the shipping process?

Shipping typically takes between 1-5 day depending on your location. Our Shipping company will never deliver your aquarium without first scheduling a delivery day and time with you.

  8. What will the seams on my aquarium look like?

Every vertical seam that is not covered with a colored vinyl will be routed, sanded, and fully polished. Since most horizontal seams will be hidden by a stand and canopy these seams will be routed flush and buffed. Horizontal seams can be polished for an additional fee. We never flame polish seams as this can weaken a seam and cause crazing of the acrylic.
